Boon Lay Hawker Center

We had dinner at the Boon Lay Hawker Center.  This was the place that provided nourishment, both solid food as well as liquids, for Patrick and his fellow students during Fall 2008 at NUS.  As the Boon Lay Hawker Center was just a few minutes away from their residences, it became their favorite place to eat and drink.

To Patrick's pleasant surprise, the chicken rice person, the desserts woman, and the beer lady all recognized him and were glad to see him once more.  In fact, the beer lady went and got some extra cold ones for us instead of the ones that were for sale in the refrigerator.  Hmmm, why was the beer lady so nice to Pat?  Did he purchase copious amounts of beer from her stall?  :-)  Somewhat to Patrick's dismay, the chicken rice man said he could tell that we were Father and Son.  :-)   The photos are of Patrick and Kacy at Boon Lay with photos of the famous chicken rice dish and the vendor's stall.

  2. In Singapore, Tiger beer is the beer of choice. I have drunk so much Tiger beer in Singapore that I feel as if I have Tiger stripes appearing on my body. :-)
