From Yung Shue Wan, we took the trail that led to Sok Kwu Wan, the main village on the southern end of the island. The hike took one hour and 23 minutes despite a very steep climb at the beginning of the hike and the high humidity that tended to dampen our spirits. However, we all made it in good time even though we stopped several times for photo opportunities. The photos document our hike from our arrival at Yang Shue Wan pier all the way to seeing Sok Kwu Wan in the distance as we approached it. :-)

Lamma Island
We went to one of the major off shore islands of Hong Kong today, Lamma Island. We took the ferry from Pier 4 in the Central Piers to the village of Yung Shue Wan. Lamma Island is the home to many foreign residents of Hong Kong. The island only has approximately 6,000 permanent residents and has a much more rural atmosphere with no cars allowed on the island. Despite its pastoral nature, it is only 30 minutes away from Central Hong Kong by ferry boat.
