I am sure by now that you all have noticed that many of my posts are about food. After hearing of the many superb restaurants in Hong Kong, one of the goals of our trip is to eat at as many of them as possible. On Wednesday night, we went to a restaurant that Anthony Bourdain featured in his episode on Hong Kong. Only the dedicated would go all the way to Yat Lok restaurant as it is located in Tai Po Market, approximately 45 minutes away from the hotel district in Tsim Sha Tsui. After using 3 MTR lines and two transfers to get to Tai Po Market station in the New Territories, you still have to walk about 15 minutes to get to restaurant itself.
However, the roast goose was indeed the best that I have ever had, The "char sil" or barbeque pork was decent but not outstanding. The roast pork was pretty good but the star of the dinner was the roast goose. As we had been walking about all day in Sha Tin visiting the Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery and the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, we washed down the dinner with copious amounts of "Blue Girl" beer.
Pat busily savoring the roast goose while Kacy was showing her pleasure at yet another carnivore feast
More roast goose hanging in the display window. The restaurant was doing a very brisk take out business also.
Your posts are making me hungry, with limited to no outlets for quality food within a 10 mile radius of the office. Bummer.
